Amazon.com Review This versatile cookware set from Cuisinart comprises a roomy 8-quart stockpot for soups and pasta, 3- and 1-1/2-quart saucepans, 8- and 10-inch skillets, and a 3-1/2-quart saute pan. The stockpot, saute pan, and saucepans come with tempered glass covers, designed to seal in flavor without hiding the food from view. Each piece is made from durable hard-anodized aluminum that heats up quickly without hot spots, and each is lined with an advanced Quantanium nonstick coating. Quantanium is designed for healthy low-fat cooking, allowing even delicate foods like fish to be cooked without sticking. Every pan cleans up quickly and easily, and is tough enough for use with metal utensils, giving years of trouble-free service. The securely riveted stay-cool steel handles on each pan are oven-safe to 500 degrees F, so food can be browned on the stovetop then transferred to the oven to finish cooking. Together, the six pans in this set will handle almost any everyday cooking task, making them ideal for setting up a new kitchen or replacing older cookware. --Simon Leake What's in the Box 1-1/2-quart saucepan with lid, 3-quart saucepan with lid, 3-1/2-quart saute pan with helper handle and lid, 8-quart stockpot with lid, 8-inch open skillet, and 10-inch open skillet.

I've had them for over 4 years now... December 27, 2008 I've had this set for over 4 years now, and we've added to it from open-stock. With proper care, these are great pans. Some things to remember: 1. Avoid high heat. These pans conduct heat so well any way, that I rarely have to go over the 1/2 way mark. My old pans required a higher setting to get the same cooking. 2. non-stick surfaces and cooking spray are a bad combo. The chemicals in the cooking spray can ruin non-stick surfaces. If I feel I need a little extra, I have a do-dad that sprays olive oil. 3. Keep away from metal spatulas. This rule has been broken a few times with our pans, contributing to the wear/tear we've seen. 4. Hand wash. The dishwasher is a pretty harsh environment for pans like these.
Unfortunately, we haven't always followed these rules, and these pans are starting to show some signs of wear/tear. The look a little rough around the edges, but still cook great. Our frying pans in particular get quite a workout, but I can still cook an egg in them without anything. For a little extra, these are a huge step up from the pans you'll find at your local big-box retailer. My only regret is that we didn't buy them sooner.
lids don't fit October 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unfortunately, the lids don't fit on the stock pot or the saute pan. So disappointing, as they are described as fitting so well! I'm worried that if I return it, I'll get the same thing again. I wish I could just return the defective pieces and not the whole set.
Everything we wanted in cookware set July 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife and I absolutely love this Cuisinart set. While it seems everybody has a "nonstick" set these days, these pans are truly nonstick. Some of the things that used to be headaches to clean are so easy with this set, most notably my attempts involving eggs. Eggs are usually one of the more difficult things on pans, because the egg whites thin out and burn onto the surface of the pan. But with this set, even if I don't use enough oil, it's a breeze to scoop the eggs off the pan with a regular spatula, and it's just as easy to clean up afterward. Just as a more dramatic example, I've tried putting a single egg on the pan (with the heat on) and I let the egg white spread out a little. I've noticed that when the egg white starts to cook and become opaque, instead of burning onto the surface of the pan, it actually curls away from the pan. And that was without using pam, oil, or butter.
So I think that gets the nonstick point across. The other great thing is that these pans are really light. That's particularly good for my wife, so she doesn't have to hurt her wrists when carrying these things around full of food. But it's even good for me, especially when I'm tilting one of the pots sideways to drain out excess water (I often don't feel like using a strainer). They're nice and easy to pick up and tilt without having to use two hands, and they don't make you feel like your wrist is going to fall off.
Another note on the cleaning, I almost want to say that you really don't have to clean them... After some really light uses, all that might be left on the pan is some oil that could be taken care of with quick deployment of a paper towel. You really ought to clean these things between uses, but there won't be that much to clean, so you can focus on the few spots that need a good scrub, and since they're light it won't be difficult to turn them this way and that to get to whatever spot needs scrubbing. Especially for the price on amazon.com, they're absolutely worth the money.
Impressive March 12, 2008 Impressive- you can use lower heat with the black in particular and pans heat up faster- The non stick surface is so effective that it almost becomes a disadvantage when trying to turn eggs over- easy-they just slip away from you.- easy cleanup- well worth the money JRN
A great set! March 6, 2008 This set of cookware is great for my purposes of cooking for a small family. The heat distributes evenly and fairly quickly. Clean up is a breeze. I've had this set for a year, and only have one piece where the non-stick coating has been nicked, and that took a pretty serious hit to make that happen. Just use wooden or non-stick utensils and always hand-wash.
