Product Description The OXO Good Grips Potato Masher lets you make great mashed potatoes with less pressure on your hands. The fine-grid, stainless steel mashing plate yields smooth mashed potatoes with no lumps. A broad, soft, horizontal handle lets you press straight down while it cushions your grip and absorbs pressure. Also ideal for ashing yams, carrots, or other root vegetables -- or making homemade baby food like mashed apples or bananas.
Amazon.com Review What, no lumps? If you prefer the homemade texture of mashed root vegetables but without the chunks, this is the tool you've been searching for. With its broad, stainless-steel head, potatoes are mashed evenly through a fine grid. It's also great for other mashable vegetables and fruits, as well as for making baby food. The Good Grips line features durable, nonslip flexible handles on every product. Ergonomically designed to fit the palm comfortably and softly, the pressure-absorbing processed rubber handle puts less tension on the hands, while providing an outstanding grip. Made from the same material as dishwasher gaskets are constructed of, the handles are slip-proof, wet or dry, as well as dishwasher-safe. Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award. --Laurie Notaro

Excellent potato masher October 17, 2008 You can't beat this product. It makes mashing anything easy and consistent. Definately, an excellent buy.
This one is the best May 27, 2008 We have had this masher for years. My kids have just recently moved out on thier own and tried to find this masher everywhere. They did not want to settle for anythng less then this.
Easy to use, works well May 9, 2008 I love this potato masher. Most of my family and friends are Scotch-Irish and needless to say get togethers usually involve a 5 pound bag of potatoes. This masher makes quick work of them without causing nearly as much arm strain as mashers with a stick type handle. The only drawbacks are you can sometimes get a bit of potato on your knuckles as others have mentioned (in my house that just means you're lucky cause you get to lick them), and you can't use it with a non-stick pan since its metal.
Potatoe Masher April 16, 2008 How long has it been since you peeled and boiled potatoes added milk, butter, and salt and pepper and then mashed them with one of these? My grandmother had one and I was surprised and happy to see one here. Does a good job without a lot of effort.

This is NOT, I repeat, NOT the stick grenade those dirty Germans used against us Good Ol Boys back during Dubya Dubya 2. This here is for actually mashing potatoes. I was the laughing stock at this year's Dubya Dubya 2 re-enactment. Luckily I had a fresh whole rabbit with me to distract my platoon as I hid the so-called "potato masher" under a large woman's dress.
