So far it's great! January 4, 2009 I bought this for myself because I wanted a programmable crock that would automatically turn to warm when finished. But I got much more than I had expected. I've used the probe and it cooked my chicken perfectly. And I love that the lid will seal if I need to transport a meal to a pot luck dinner or something. In the past, I would have to worry about everything spilling out, but not with this because it has such a great seal on it. I also bought this as a gift for my brother and his large family. We were all amazed at how much we could cook in this. So, it works great for a large family. The directions do recommend that the crock is filled for best results or expect it to cook faster if it is only half filled. That may be why a few people on here had their food cook too fast. I haven't had a problem with that at all. Would recommend this for anyone and I got on sale, so good purchase for the money.
Cadillac of slow cookers January 1, 2009 I received this slow cooker for Christmas and as of New Years Day am using it for the 3rd time already! This is a fantastic gadget that works very well. I have experienced none of the issues some other reviewers seem to have had. This unit has a very simple digital setting process and does not cook too hot if properly set. Glad we got this one and you will be too.
This thing cooks TOO hot on low. December 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Agree with prior poster. This thing cooks TOO hot on low. I used to always cook 8 hours on low. Maybe 5-6 now on low, but not quite as tender with the higher temp. Wish I could adjust temperature lower.
wide handled crock pot December 26, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The features are great but the width of the handles make it ackward to store. I wanted a medium pot with an advanced heat control features but ended up with a pot that is harder to store than a tradtional 6 quart. It work well but I have to store it in the basement.
Can cook for one or many December 14, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I read the other reviews before I bought this and so far it works beyond my expectations. Most slow cookers seem to cook at too high of a temperature, but not mine, it's just right. Being programable makes it that much better. I've had chili in it all day long and it still cleaned up easily.
