Create delicious, deli-like panini at home with this gourmet sandwich press from Hamilton Beach. Designed to accommodate everything from single-slice ham sandwiches to piled-high turkey grinders, the grill heats ingredients, melts cheese, and creates a crispy outer crust. The floating lid slides and swivels for the right fit and locks into position with a side dial. The locking function is also handy for keeping the lid upright if you want to make open face snacks or clean the grill plates. Roomy and ribbed, the grill plates measure 12 by 8-1/2 and are coated with a wipe-down nonstick coating. Stable on its four feet, the press has gleaming chrome housing and durable plastic accents. Purchased for my 14yr. old granddaughter who enjoys cooking. She's very happy with it; started with quessadillas and advanced to paninis for family and friends. Fun!

I'm enjoying a panini as I write this! Love the hingeless design, the locking mechanism, the overall quality of the press. I read a few reviews that I respectfully disagree with. 1. It takes MAYBE 2 minutes to heat up. (although the green light is very faint when it comes on, maybe the reviewer doesn't notice when it comes on?) 2. I've made about 10 sandwiches since Chrismtas (3 weeks) and in 5 minutes the sandwiches are super melty and warm inside and nicely toasted and crisp outside. I use ciabatta rolls, so maybe some other kinds of sandwich bread don't work as well? This model does exactly what I want it to do, makes great sandwiches easily and quickly, cleans up in a snap, and stores upright so it doesn't take up much room. Kudos to my husband, who bought this for me as a Christmas present!

This is a great buy for the money. My wife loves using it, and she uses it a lot. Everything from quick and tasty sandwiches to toasted breakfast delicacies. Exceeds expectations.

I had to buy two of these as Christmas presents this year after having mine for over a year now. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and dinner is ready in minutes!

First Panini maker my wife and I purchased, and while it may not have the bells and whistles of more expenses ones, we are very satisfied with our purchase.
Panini's are excellent, and the Hamilton Beach one hasn't made us a bad one yet !
