Product Description Special Edition Steak Knife Set - J.A. Henckels will contribute $5.00 from sale of each set to Save Our Strength (SOS) to help fight hunger within the United States.
Amazon.com Review Packed in a beautiful wood storage box, the eight knives in this set slice steaks, chops, or roasts and, because they're stainless steel, they match stainless-steel flatware at the dinner table. The knives have 4-inch blades cleverly angled to prevent wrist strain while applying maximum pressure. The edges are serrated so they do tend to tear meat fibers rather than slicing cleanly through them as straight-edge steak knives do. Stamped from high-carbon stainless steel, the knives have 18/10 stainless-steel handles and are dishwasher-safe. The storage box is heirloom quality, with a glowing, deep-auburn mahogany finish. Knives rest in wood slots at an angle that makes them easy to retrieve. The box measures 15 inches long, 5 inches wide, and 1-3/4 inches deep and has brass clasps. For each sale of this gift set, Henckels makes a five-dollar donation to Share Our Strength, an antihunger program initiated and supported by U.S. professional chefs. --Fred Brack

Excellent steak knives December 15, 2008 I bought these for my sister. I have owned a set for some years now and find that they still look great, are sharp as ever, and can take some rough treatment, including washing in the dishwasher. I think they are worth every cent.
Wonderful knife set - Very happy with them so far January 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this 8pc set and could not be happier with it. As others have mentioned the knives are super sharp. My wife cut herself washing one the first time we used them. Their design is clean and contemporary and matches our other silverware nicely. Given the wide price range of steak knives I'd say these offer very high end quality at a good value.
good choice November 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These knives are sharp. One of the reasons i bought them was that they are entirely in stainless steel, a single piece, so they could match my other flatware on the table and are also easy to clean. I've been cleaning them in the dishwasher and it's been ok. The logo on the blade is big so they do not look that nice on the table if your flatware style is clean and elegant and you're having a fancy dinner. But as the focus must be the food anyway, the logo might go unnoticed. For those who like heavy knives, it's not a good choice. But they do cut very well anyway, which is the most important.
Good value October 11, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like nice things and am a bit of a snob. That being said, these knives are not "top of the line" Henckels. But they don't cost the same either. More importantly, they are not the cheap Henckels line. They cut well, rather than tearing. They look nice and go with stainless flatwear. The one consistent comment made by others I find interesting is how well they survive the dishwasher. These knives are not supposed to go in the dishwasher. They are to be hand washed. The instructions so state. There is no way to sharpen them because they are serrated. So a dishwasher will dull them without recourse. But no good knives are supposed to be put in a dishwasher. This is a nice set and I am pleased I bought them.
What a great product September 21, 2007 A complete set of stylish knives that not only will serve their purpose (easily cutting the steak), but also allow you to present an elegant table, worthy of a top restaturant, home or just for your own delight... They get easily marked with the fingerprints and all, but if you take care of them by the book, it will be just great! You won't regret the purchase of this set.
