I own several diferent ones in diferent colors and have no problem with smells or bleeding colors or fading. I'm not sure what the differnce is between mine and the other person's but I love all of mine. I also have the place matts and napkins and they are the are NO problems also.

Watch out for dye bleeding!!! August 3, 2007

Wash this tablecloth separate from all other clothing for the first three washes - the dye bleeds like crazy. After the third wash, the cloth started to look faded, unfortunately. They also arrived with a strange smell, sort of like gasoline. They are nice, but watch for bleeding and know that they fade fast.
