Rack 'em up! January 3, 2009 This clothing rack was just what I needed to dry small items... socks, underwear, small towels fit perfectly on this rack. I would not recommend it for large items unless you only have one or two to place on it. (2 towels, 2 pair of pants, etc). If you are looking for a clothing rack that easily folds up to store and don't need to dry large items, this one is perfect. A+
compact drying space December 16, 2008 Bought both this whitney 5147 drying rack and a polder drying rack. Polder is too narrow. Whitney 5147 enables you to hang towels and t-shirts, whereas polder seems to only be good for underwear and socks. Whitney: two thumbs up. Polder: two thumbs down.
5147 - kickass December 14, 2008 i love these. have 2. used them for a year and half, through all sorts of weather, heavy wet clothes, etc. bought them because of the amazon reviews. especially one review who referenced it by number like a classic car model - which still makes me laugh.
this isn't a complaint, but sadly, i broke one today. i stupidly decided it could balance a huge weight of ice on top - dont' ask - and the weight managed to collapsed the top and break one of the poles ):. i'll update this if the other one breaks, but i doubt it will after all its been through.
from my indoor drying experiences, i'm starting to realize that i want something that actually hangs down from the window to maximize sun exposure. also, i'm getting good at packing clothes in the thing, but there is something about this shape that doesn't allow me to use all its area. i'll look around for other shapes for my replacement. nothing really beats the clothesline, but sometimes it rains ): and sometimes you want to reintroduce humidity into your dry heated room.
Exactly as described December 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just what I was looking for. Lightweight but firm construction. No assembly needed.
Not what I expected November 22, 2008 Wished that I invested in a butterfly type. This is not very prctical, it is hard to get to the spaces in the middle and doesn't hold much. I was expecting a little bit better product for the money.
