Amazon.com Review Protect your hands from hot pot handles with this slip-on handle mitt. From Lodge, maker of rugged cast-iron cookware, the mitt features heavy-duty Pyrotex fabric on the exterior, along with a scorch-proof coating. Inside, a thick terry lining feels comfortable against the skin, and thick cotton batting between the two layers adds further heat and steam protection. Heat-resistant up to 495 degrees F, the Max Temp mitt fits over stainless or cast-iron handles, indoors or at the barbecue, and comes in basic black to match any décor. --Ann Bieri

Perfect! December 29, 2008 These handle mitts work great! I can leave them on while I'm cooking on the stovetop and I can move the pots perfectly. And, if I am getting a pot from the oven, I slide it on prior to lifting; it works great! I tried the silicone ones, but didn't like them...they seemed to slip around the handles.
NOT too hot to handle... December 21, 2008 I use this mitt on all my iron cookware and have not burned myself. The mitt slips easily onto the handle and allows me to remove cornbread from an iron skillet that baked in a 425 degree oven for 28 minutes. (The mitt is not placed in the oven while baking, only used to remove the skillet AFTER baking!)
When frying on top of the stove, you may keep the mitt on the handle just be careful not to allow the mitt to touch the pan itself as it may become too hot to handle, catch on fire, etc. Just use common sense!
MADE IN CHINA November 26, 2008 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
I try to buy stuff that is made in USA, hence the Lodge Cast Iron cookware. You think a company like Lodge could find a way to make these in the US. How much money are they saving? Oh, it gets 2 stars because it works
Safe cooking, no burn handle cover--happy! November 25, 2008 This is a great handle cover and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Yes, it IS small and fits perfectly on the iron skillet handle and out of my way. It saves my hand from getting burnt and I don't have to have a bulky large mit on that is in my way. I can't belive I have waited so long to get one of these! I rated it 4 because it is just black, nothing interesting but the quality of the product is good. Save yourself from the burn! :)
Wonderful September 22, 2008 This mitt is wonderful with the iron skillet I purchased! It has definitely saved on the amount of burns I get from grabbing the handle without it!
