 Great item!! January 8, 2009
I bought this so if the electricity goes out, we can still get in the house. Who has a house key anymore? I bought one for my Mom too so she isn't hiding her keys in the garden.
They work great! Match the combo to your garage door code and you will always be able to get in the house!
 Needed a safe place to leave extra key December 20, 2008
I purchased this lock and recently installed it on the inside frame of a storm door of our vacation home. It did not fit on the door frame itself between the two doors. I needed a place to leave a spare key and this seemed the best solution. Leaving a key hidden outside was just not something I felt comfortable with. It is reasonably priced. It was easy to install and is sturdy. It is easy to set your own combination. The directions provided are clear and simple to follow. The one feature that I do not like is the combination needs to be scrambled upon locking it after use, unlike other locks that need to be set to zero in order for the locking mechanism to engage. Seems too easy to just lock it and go, leaving the combination in view.

The Master Lock 5401D is great and just as advertised. It met all my expectations, and, as a result, I feel more safe and secure. After going through a humiliating 'locked out' experience I'm grateful that I won't have to go through that again! I highly recommend the Master Lock 5401D.
Lock Box review December 7, 2008
Excellent product - I use them at the fire stations in Baker County, FL which are normally not manned to allow access to the station for others who need to get in there to perform various tasks. These boxes are excellent for this type of activity.

He is very convenient, but the inner space is very small and it does not allowed to place keys of cars with remote control.
