My grandfather, Elmo Crosby, who lived in New Orleans was a longshoreman and new how to catch, clean, cook all those critters that lived in the Bayou. This was his favorite shrimp deviener, and he gave me one over 30 years ago. I broke it about 10 years ago and have been searching for one ever since. It's the best. It peels and deveins the shrimp in one quick motion. Other shrimp cleaners do not have a serrated edge or the serrated edge is not very high. The Quickso Shrimp Cleaner has a high serrated edge making it easy to remove the vein while at the same time removing the shell.
