Damaged September 30, 2008 Arrived with a large, 5 inch long dent on the lip, preventing the lid from sitting right and exposing the bare metal beneath the enamel. The metal is crude steel, protected only by the enamel, so it would rust in nothing flat.
The roaster was inside a box inside another box, so I can only assume the company packaged a defective item. There was a prominent sticker on the INSIDE box to the effect 'refuse shipping if product damaged'. Well the UPS man is long gone, and here I have a broken roaster. Way to recoup damaged inventory, "Colombian Home Products"!
I am filing a report with Amazon.com.
Lighter weight than Grandma's roaster! April 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It looks the same as the classic roaster, the size is the same, but this roaster is very thin. I was a bit disappointed, but it was a good deal on Amazon, and still better than buying disposable aluminum.
Observations using this roasting pan. March 28, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Granite Ware 18-Inch Covered Oval Roaster Handles are a good size easy to grip Cover fits very well The pan is very thin, I found you have to watch closely what you are cooking as it tends to catch on easily. Not sure I would suggest it to someone just learning how to cook. Price is fine Delivery as always with Amazon very fast.
Mixed feelings! March 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Even though the item was Brand New, it had a chip on it and if bought IRL, would've been returned because of... BUT it is spacious and does a fine job in the kitchen.
Just like Mom's! February 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'd been using a stainless steel roaster and couldn't figure out why my turkey always took TWICE as long to cook....so frustrating! The first time I used this roaster, it was my best turkey ever...perfect color and flavor, and finished on time! Also, it's sturdy and easy to heft in and out of the oven, unlike the back-breaking stainless steel monstrosity. 17 stars!
