I purchased a checkerboard cake from a bakery and my brother in law, the family cake baker loved the way it looked. I bought this pan for him for Christmas. I admit, I was skeptical that it would work, but he turned out a beautiful "checkerboard" cake on the first try! I had another product similar to this that was plastic, but it broke. This product is made of high quality solid steel. I highly Recommend this product. Makes beautiful cakes.
