Product Description Digital Programmable Timer with 2 Hour Auto Shut-Off - Just set the timer the night before, so you can wake up to the smell of fresh-brewed coffee every morning! And the coffee maker automatically shuts off after two hours. Shower Head Design - Helps to extract your coffees full, natural flavor by allowing water to completely saturate all coffee grounds. Aroma Button - Activates a unique brewing process that enhances the flavor and aroma of your coffee. To achieve this full-bodied flavor, the coffee maker advances through several continuous cycles. During the cycles, water is released into the filter basket in 30-second intervals. This special time-released process saturates grounds a little at a time to extract the best flavor and aroma from your coffee. Swing-Away Filter Basket with Permanent Filter - Swing open the filter basket for quick removal of the permanent gold-tone filter. Pause and Serve Function - allows you to interrupt the brewing cycle and pour a cup of coffee. Non-Stick Warming Plate - Keeps coffee hot after brewing is complete and makes cleanup a breeze. Water Level Indicator - lets you know when the unit needs refilling. Cord Storage - Keeps power cord out of harms way when coffee maker is not in use.

Pass on this one. May 10, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This has to have the worst decanters I've ever used. Pours coffee on the table (or your shoes) almost as fast as it does the coffee mug. After having such great luck with the Delonghi Caffe Elite this was a big disappointment. Luckily the Caffe Elite was again available on Amazon and I ordered one right away and returned the Delonghi 12 cup to Lowe's where it was purchased the next day.
Cold coffee, poor design April 18, 2008 I've had this coffemaker for 4 months now, and I am finally ready to throw in the towel and look for a new one.
It makes only lukewarm coffee, and the "filter" basket is poorly designed. Even though it looks shut - it may not be. It must click shut, or no cofee will be made. Also mine sticks shut, and I have to wrestle it open every time. I have to pull it out to the edge of the counter to fill the resevoir each time also. Just an all around huge disappointment.
Makes a great cup of coffee January 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had read a few not very favorable reviews about this coffeemaker, but decided to buy it and try it anyway. I'm so glad I did. It makes great coffee and has all the bells and whistles I need. Plus it is not expensive! I like the option to have a slower drip for deeper coffee flavor. The carafe doesn't drip and I like the design of the maker and the carafe. I very much like that it comes with the gold filter and that it has the automatic start and shut-off functions. This machine makes much better coffee than any of the other drip machines I have owned. And I do love a good cup of coffee.
Horrible! December 9, 2007 We've had this for over a week and it's got to be the worst coffee maker ever.
The carafe on our old 12 cup Braun broke and we needed an emergency replacement. We ended up purchasing this at Target on an impulse buy after failed attempts to find a decent replacement at other stores. Lesson learned is to NEVER buy without researching!
The coffee maker is slow, especially when you use the Aroma setting. We made our first pot without this setting and the coffee was very weak and left an after taste. With Aroma setting it takes about 25 - 30 minutes to brew. This would be fine if it made decent coffee, however this is not the case and the flavor is very inconsistent.
My biggest gripe is the coffee temperature. The first cup is always luke warm, which I can't stand. I like my coffee hot, so I don't have to down it before it gets cold. The second cup is warmer as it's been heated with the warming plate. However it doesn't taste quite right and reminds me of old coffee at a diner. Equally irritating is the poorly designed carafe which always spills.
Minor gripes... You're not alerted when it's done brewing... You can't adjust the auto shut off... The coffee basket design is awkward and will not stand up on it's own while filling the coffee.... It takes up a lot of counter space...
So if you're looking for a coffee maker that is slow and brews weak, luke warm coffee, then this is the one for you, otherwise, do yourself a huge favor and avoid this at all costs...
BTW, I just ordered a new Braun and eagerly await it's arrival...
pretty but dangerous December 7, 2007 gorgeous on the counter. brews decently. HOWEVER-- the stainless bucket you see is softsided and does not close properly unless you use two hands and bend and wiggle it in--or out to clean it. you think it's hooked and where's the coffee??? stuck up in the bucket! so if you open it curiously to see, you could burn yourself badly. if you manage to close it carefully, then the coffee will drip. i believe this is the basis of the "aroma" function--the water sits on the ground longer before coming down into the pot??? the clock never keeps time so therefore the timer is useless. you burn yourself while pouring the coffee for the lid and the handle leave a funny space for steam to escape. other than that, it's pretty. hit the on button once and it engages a TIMER. hit it twice and it's actually on. This is just annoying. Especially if you just slip and hit it once, come back wondering where the coffee is and realize you set the non-funcioning timer because the clock doesn't function. So don't be fooled by the fancy and just buy a different brand.
