Best corkscrew November 18, 2008 CORKSCREWS MAY COME AND GO, BUT THIS REMAINS THE BEST FOR OVERALL EASE OF USE AND RELIABILITY. IT'S A LOT OF TWISTING, BUT MUCH EASIER TO OPERATE THAN THE LEVER TYPES (RABBIT) BECAUSE IT DOES NOT REQUIRE STRENGTH.
Best corkscrew ever made November 7, 2008 I have owned this corkscrew for about 10 years. This is by far the best corkscrew I've ever used. Forget the fancy butterfly models with fancy cases, this works better. There are no levers to pull on this thing and it's nearly impossible to "screw" up the cork. Here's my instructions for it: Put it on the bottle, push down gently while turning the screw top. That's it. This is the only corkscrew that I know of that can be used by a less-than-strong female with a history of breaking corks (who's shall go unnamed, but she knows who she is). If you hate corkscrews because you aren't strong or just seem to lack coordination, try this one.
Easy to use October 20, 2008 I am enjoying my Screwpull wine cork opener. The only problem I have had is that it takes a little while for the end of the pointed coil to penetrate the harder plastic corks. Once the point is through the removal of the cork is effortless.
It Works October 18, 2008 Simple, effortless, foolproof. However, there are a few details that aren't obvious from the listing. The screw part and the outer "frame" part are not connected, they just slide together. It's not a big deal, but tossing the Screwpull into a drawer may mean you have to fish around for two components before you can get your cork pulled.
Also, the product feels a bit flimsy and cheap. The screw is teflon-coated, sharp, and stiff, but the housing is plastic, so thin it flexes. I keep mine in the original display clamshell, because I fear it would get broken if left out.
Still, like the title says, it works perfectly. Just set it in place and turn the handle. Easiest corkscrew I've ever used.
Not as Fast as the Pocket Model October 13, 2008 The Screwpull Table Model is almost identical to their pocket model except for the handle. The Pocket Model is actually the better of the two - it's quite a bit faster, has more leverage, and stores in a smaller space. 4 stars for this version, 5 for the Pocket.
The pocket version is here: Screwpull Pocket Model Corkscrew, Black
