Locker room hunks require no assistance when removing corks from champagne or other bubbly-wine bottles, and they're happy to spray wine around. Others, however, find it difficult to uncork a bubbly wine and to do it without spraying or spilling. These pliers are specifically designed to assist the latter group by firmly gripping a cork and providing leverage for twisting it free under control so the user doesn't waste a single drop. The pliers are made of stainless steel with ergonomic handles and rubberized grips for comfortable, soft, "velvet" handling. This is a fabulous item for those who enjoy a little "bubbly". The pliers are comfortable in the hand and very solid. Functional as well as attractive. They will help with even the most stubborn cork, with minimal effort. Cheers!!!!

Although accused of being a "sissy" at our New Years' Eve party, everyone who opened the next champagne bottle went straight for the champagne opener! I am so glad I had ordered it before the party!!

This set of "pliers," perfectly formed to grasp a champagne stopper, eliminates the stopper landing in someone's eye or breaking something. I remember a flying cork making a dent in our ceiling one time, and more serious near-misses, before I got this. Another advantage is that it is easy for a woman--or man who doesn't want to have to wrestle with the stopper-- to open a champagne bottle with this; even though I lift (light) weights, I still used to find myself handing off champagne bottles to the nearest strong male. No more!
