The Budget Kit January 6, 2009 The Budget Kit: The Common Cents Money Management Workbook This is such a great book. It does help your finances accordingly. I highly recommended this book to everybody especially to wives and mom's out there who's doing the household bugetting.
Not worth buying December 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Most considerations of the author are obvious, what really makes the difference are the worksheets that are ONLY provided in paper copy within the book. Unfortunately you can download them only paying extra $12,00 from the authors website. Then my question is why call this book a budgetkit at all? Simply buy or download any free excel budgeting without the need of this book, saves time and money.
Thank God For Judy Lawrence! November 22, 2008 With the economy today, I am so glad I started with this book months ago. It has been a real learning experience finding out where my money is going - and step by step I am more conscious of my spending choices. When I started this book, my finances felt like the refrigerator running - it's always running you know.
Then, all of the sudden, the refrigerator stops running and is done. That's the sense of dread I had about figuring out my financial situation.
Things are different now. I know where my money is going and have more confidence in my financial choices. That is because knowledge is power. Judy has provided the structure so that I now have the knowledge to make informed choices.
I also want to add that I am somewhat of an author groupie so I emailed Judy for a private consultation which she provides free of charge initially. My circumstances were such that I live on a fixed income. I ended up working privately with Judy which has been the BEST experience financially for me - I tailored the system particularly to my circumstances so it is really working for me.
You may want to check out her website www.moneytracker.com Well worth the investment!
You have to pay for electronic versions of budget worksheets!! November 19, 2008 Some good advice, but after buying the book I didn't expect to have to purchase the electronic version of worksheets for an additional 12.95!! The book mentions these worksheets, but the author does not tell you they cost money to get. You find that out when you get to the website, no free passcode for book owners. With so many people using computers to budget, electronic versions of these forms should be free. It is tacky to charge book owners for these forms
This is *NOT* a "Kit" and No CD INCLUDED! August 29, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Though several of the reviews and used editions of this book refer to a CD, this so-called "kit" does not include a CD. In fact, the book has a URL link to a moneytracker dot com website with offers to purchase thirteen dollars worth of spreadsheets separately.
I don't like this misleading marketing of a book and it is a disappointment that so many reviewers let this author off the hook for calling this paper-and-pencil workbook a "kit."
In 2008, it is reasonable to expect a book about spreadsheets to offer the spreadsheets themselves at no extra charge.
