Not what I was looking for? August 29, 2008 I was looking for a book that would help me change the way I ate for health reasons. This book and her ideas are a bit too extreme for me. You can not just incorporate common ingredients into your diet. Most of the grains and suppliments that she suggested were ones that I had not even heard of or could even pronounce. I was disappointed. I am a vegetarian but this method of eating did not appeal to me.
recipes that are healthy and taste good too! July 13, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've tried about a dozen of Christina's recipes and they've all turned out well. I always ask my husband (picky) to rate a new dish from 1-5 stars and so far he's given 4 or 5 stars to every dish we've tried. The only drawback to the recipes is that many call for a substantial number of ingredients or things I don't regularly have on hand, so I have to plan ahead if I'm preparing one of Christina's dishes.
Whacko woman June 29, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
This woman actually thinks that SHE was CURED of leukemia by refusing medicinal methods and choosing an extreme diet. Hmmm, why didn't the Oncologists think of that!? She's a KOOK! I've seen better reading on the bathroom wall.
A wonderful resource book! September 15, 2007 I bought this as a gift for a former vegan; he loved the meals in it and appreciated the link to his past. Now, he cooks one dish a week from this book for his new wife, who never considered a no-meat diet could be good!
Disappointed March 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While on vacation I caught one of Christina's Cable TV programs and was impressed with the recipes and preparation. Because I cannot view her TV program at home I purchased her book. I did not like the recipes in the book and returned it. I'm mostly interested in low fat vegetarian recipes. An alternative book Moosewood Restaurant Low-Fat Favorites had many more recipes that I liked.
